Lesli Rodgers, CEO of LR Direct Ltd., has taken a position with VitaminShoppe.com as vice president, customer acquisition and retention. LR Direct Ltd., the list management and brokerage firm she founded in 1992, will discontinue operations.
In making her decision to close up shop, Rodgers says she needed to either devote all her time to VitaminShoppe.com or cut back her involvement with the company. “And I simply could no longer resist the temptation to stick my nose into their business,” she adds. “My only regret is that I could not pursue this opportunity while continuing to run LR Direct.”
The company officially shut its doors April 28, but plans to continue operations for a couple of months “to take care of existing obligations.”
In her new role, Rodgers will report to VitaminShoppe.com president and CEO Jeffrey Horowitz.
Rodgers has been a list broker and direct marketing consultant for Vitamin Shop Industries for a dozen years. Vitamin Shop launched its Web site in April 1998, and spun it off as a public company in October 1999.
Before starting LR Direct, Rodgers was a director and acting vice president at American List Counsel Inc. She was named List Leader of the Year in 1998 by the Direct Marketing Association and served as co-chair of the DMA’s List Leaders during 1994-1995.
