Robert N. Nylen, publisher and co-founder of several companies, died of cancer on Dec. 23, at home in Ashfield, MA. He was 64.
Nylen co-founded Waterfront Media, which operates a network of health Web sites. He also co-founded New England Monthly, Media & the Law and Beliefnet. He was consumer ad manager for U.S. News & World Report and associate publisher for Texas Monthly.
Nylen taught at Smith College and he was a consultant in the publishing industry. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife and daughter, a brother and a sister. Memorial services will be private.
