Quebecor Printing Inc., Montreal, reported net income of $53.4 million on revenue of $1.08 billion for the fourth quarter ended December 31, as compared with net income of $47.5 million on revenue of $993.2 million for the same period in the previous year. Revenue increased by 8.6%, net income by 12.4%.
For the year, the company reported net income of $159.6 million on revenue of $3.8 billion, compared with net income of $130.4 million on revenue of $3.5 billion in 1997. Revenue increased by 9.3%, net income by 22.3%.
Quebecor said that, after preferred share dividends, earnings per share for the year increased 15% to $1.29 from $1.12 in 1997.
