Q Interactive Launches E-mail Service

Q Interactive, formerly CoolSavings, yesterday announced an e-mail marketing program under which it will send offers on behalf of clients to third party lists.

The company currently mails third-party offers to its own list, which it claims contains more than 6 million e-mail addresses of people who have taken an action of some sort, such as signing up for a list or clicking on an offer, in the last 120 days. The addresses were collected at sites such as CoolSavings.com, FreeStyleRewards.com and FreeGiftCardsNow.com.

Q Interactive projects that its list will contain 40 million permission-based e-mail addresses by the end of the year.

Under the new program, Q Interactive will e-mail offers to third-party lists on a revenue-share basis.

To avoid being labeled as spam, the e-mail will arrive in people’s inboxes under the list owner’s brand, said spokeswoman Melissa Lederer.

She said Q Interactive will also limit the number of offers to individual addresses to avoid list fatigue.

The company typically will look for lists beginning in the 500,000-address range, but more important is that it be a list with the potential to continually draw fresh names, Lederer said.
