Publicis Said to Buy DM Shops In Five-Agency Acquisition

French advertising group Publicis SA has acquired direct response agencies in the Philippines and the Middle East, according to wire service reports.

Specifically, the Paris-based agency bought Publi-Graphics, with offices in Dubai, Lebanon, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and Turkey. It also acquired a 60% stake in AMA, a former partner of DDB in the Philippines, and merged it with its existing Publicis Philippines agency, forming Publicis AMA.

In the process, Publicis bought two direct marketing companies, which it is grouping together with its marketing subsidiary Publicis Dialog, and sales promotion units Publicis Spark and Interbrand.

Terms were not released.
