Kellogg wants to hear from kids a good story that makes at least one reference to its new line of Pop-Tarts Splitz toaster pastries.
The Crazy Good Kid creative writing contest is open to kids eight to 12, who can use words to weave an imaginative story.
One caveat: The stories can’t include references to any trademarked terms, non-Kellogg brands or URLs to other Web sites.
Splitz is a two-in-one toaster pastry that pairs two different icings and two fillings.
Entries must be submitted by the end of day on Oct. 22 and will be judged on criteria including originality, persuasiveness, grammar, clarity and interpretation of the Crazy Good Pop-Tarts theme.
The winner will get a Dell Inspiron 6400 Notebook laptop computer and a mention on the Pop-Tarts Web site. Other prizes include a Logitech Digital Writing Prize Pak, an 80-Gb Apple iPod, an RCA Small Wonder digital camcorder and Amazon gift cards.
“The Pop-Tarts Crazy Good campaign is a kid favorite, so we’re making it even more exciting by engaging kids’ imaginations and creative writing skills,” Kellogg associate brand manager Michael Sargeant said.
