Playtex is out with a slate of promotions for its new tampon, including sponsorships and sampling.
Sampling for Playtex Sport will focus on high school sports teams and cheerleaders, as well as venues frequented by young women such as college recreation centers.
The brand will also sponsor The Women’s Sports Foundation and its Go Girl Go program, the National High School Athletic Coaches Association and the National Cheerleading and Dance Championships.
At PlaytexSport.com, girls can nominate themselves or another female as “team player” for a chance to win monthly prizes and matching grants for non-profit organizations. A $25,000 grand prize goes toward the winner’s education and will be awarded in October.
Two spokeswomen support the effort: Katie Hoff, an early favorite to win multiple gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, and Abby Wamback, the U.S. Women’s Soccer Player of the Year.
