To generate buzz around the release of its new DVD, Las Vegas: An Unconventional History, PBS has launched its first-ever DVD promotion and sweepstakes that will send two winners and two guests on a trip to Las Vegas.
PBS is giving viewers a chance to experience the action with Las Vegas: An Unconventional History Instant Win Game. Consumers who buy the Las Vegas DVD have a chance to win a trip for two to Las Vegas, with lodging, air and ground transportation, dinner and tickets to a show. PBS will award two grand prizes, one in the U.S. and one in Canada.
The promotion is designed to build excitement around the Las Vegas: An Unconventional History DVD, which explores the 100-year history of Sin City and its glamour.
“Giving consumers a chance to win a trip to this exciting destination fits in perfectly with the thrill of visiting the country’s fastest growing city, Las Vegas,” said Michael Taylor, director, marketing for PBS Marketing & Consumer Products.
PBS will run on-air offers on Nov. 14 and 15 to promote the sale of the DVD, which retails for $24.98.
The sweepstakes, which began Nov. 8, runs through Feb. 28, 2006. Print ads in publications including Time, Entertainment Weekly and Condé Nast Traveler and on-pack stickers support. EastWest Creative, New York, handles.
