Patagonia Founder Chouinard Steps Down as CEO

Yvon Chouinard, founder of Ventura, CA-based Patagonia, has resigned his position as the company’s chief executive officer in order to spend more time surfing and mountain climbing, the company announced in a statement. Chouinard will still own Patagonia’s parent company, Lost Arrow Corp. Michael Crooke, the former CEO at Pearl Izumi, was named CEO. Patagonia sells outdoor enthusiast products through its mail order and retail channels.
