The Orvis Co. has named Ray McCready president. He moves up from vice president of merchandising and retail, a post he has held for the past five years.
Previously, he was vice president of the international division at Eddie Bauer where he served in a variety of capacities from 1979 to 2001.
The company has also promoted Brian Gowen, the company’s chief financial officer to chief operating officer. He joined Orvis in 2002 after serving as co-president and chief operating officer of Garnet Hill.
