OpenTable announced a free service for its restaurant customers to optimize their websites for the small screens on mobile devices. The service, powered by DudaMobile, aims to enable restaurants to make their sites mobile-friendly “without sacrificing the branding and elegance of the restaurant’s desktop website.” According to OpenTable, reservations booked on mobile devices accounted for 28 percent of all reservations in North America during the second quarter. OpenTable restaurant customers in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. interested in taking advantage of this service must claim their mobile site through the OpenTable Restaurant Center before Feb. 1, 2013. Restaurant customers who sign up after Jan. 31, 2013, will have access to the service for a monthly fee. (OpenTable)
