Ogilvy Names Young Global CEO, Succeeding Lazarus

The Ogilvy Group has named Miles Young global chief executive officer as of Jan 1. He currently serves as chairman of Ogilvy and Mather Worldwide Asia Pacific.

He succeeds Shelly Lazarus who has led the company for 11 years.
She will remain company chairman.

For the past 13 years, Young has run Ogilvy in Asia Pacific. In the past five years, the operation has nearly doubled in size to a $500 million revenue business, according to Ogilvy.

Before moving to Asia in 1995, Young had 12 years experience in Europe,
He began his career in the early 1980s at Lintas and Allen, Brady and Marsh before joining Ogilvy and Mather in 1983. In 1990 he moved over to lead Ogilvy’s Direct operations in Europe, ultimately as chairman.
