Oberto Sausage to Sponsor Mariners Games

Oberto Sausage Co. will sponsor several events at Seattle Mariners’ games this season, including the Opening Day festivities, Super Tuesday and the 4th Inning Video Board Challenge.

Attendees of the April 6 home opener will receive a 2004 magnetic schedule as they enter Safeco Field. Art “Oh Boy!” Oberto, whose father founded the company in 1918, will also throw out a ceremonial first pitch, Oberto spokesperson Cindy Klapperich said. Oberto has been running the company since he was 16.

Opening day will also be the debut of Oberto’s sponsorship of the 4th Inning Video Board Challenge. Instead of fans cheering for generic hydroplanes racing in the video footage, each of the three hydroplanes will be decorated in one of the Oberto signature colors—red, white and green.

The deal includes Oberto’s sponsorhip of 11 Super Tuesday events, which will feature beef jerky sampling and T-shirt giveaways.

At all home games, Oberto will give a random fan a year’s supply of beef jerky whenever a Mariners player hits a grand slam.
