Bulk mail shipments to the Morgan Facility at Ninth Avenue and 29th Street in New York City will be subject to searches Aug. 27 though Sept. 3 during the Republican Party National Convention. The U.S. Postal Service recommends that bulk mail for same day processing be dropped off before 3 p.m., because of anticipated traffic congestion.
Mailers wishing to avoid the Morgan Facility during the convention can make special arrangements with the U.S. Postal Service to ship bulk mail from other facilities in the region. Alternative facilities are located in Brooklyn, Flushing and Westchester County, NY and nearby northern New Jersey.
Mailers that arrange to drop mail at alternative facilities will not be subject to additional fees or loss of discounts.
