Novamex Offers Vegas Trip with Southwest Airlines

Novamex, distributor of Los Refrescos de Mexico, is running a sweepstakes for a trip to Las Vegas on Southwest Airlines.

Consumers take a shot at the grand prize by sending in a combination of five bottle caps or labels from any Los Refrescos de Mexico soft drinks with a completed entry form to the sweepstakes P.O. box through Aug. 24. Entry forms are available at retail displays and on mini-billboard bottle hangers on each Los Refrescos bottle.

The winner of Novamex’s “Fiestas Patrias en Las Vegas” promotion wins two round trip tickets on Southwest Airlines to Las Vegas, accommodations at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, tickets to an Alejandro Fernandez concert and the KA by Cirque de Soleil show, and $1,000 in cash.

The trip coincides with the observance of Mexican Independence Day on Sept. 16.

“We’re aiming at Mexican consumers,” said Jim Lucero, managing director of Camelot Communications, which conceived and executed the promotion for Novamex. “We’ve been very supportive of the Mexican market with Southwest Airlines.”

The promotion aims at appealing to Mexican consumers through music, one of their prime “passion points,” according to Lucero.

Consumers can also enter the contest online at www.fiestaspatriasenlasvegas.com, where sweepstakes rules are also available.

In addition to P-O-P materials, Novamex and Southwest are publicizing the sweepstakes with ad spots on Univision TV affiliates and radio stations in key markets.
