Northwest Generates 28% Clickthrough with Animated e-Mail

Northwest Airlines generated a 28% clickthrough rate and a 244% increase in traffic at its WorldPerks Web site within one week with an e-mail message containing Flash animation and sound.

The message, delivered earlier this year to an opt-in list of nearly 50,000 WorldPerks members, included a link to the WorldPerks Mall to view special offers and earn bonus miles, according to spokespersons for MindArrow Systems, Aliso Viejo, CA, which conducted the campaign.

The effort was part of Northwest’s Fly Free Faster bonus miles promotion. It offered customers the chance to earn 10,000 free miles by using products and services offered by WorldPerk”s partners.
