CAMPBELL SOUP CO.: has entered into an agreement to acquire artisan bread maker Ecce Panis, Inc., headquartered in East Brunswick, NJ. Campbell plans to run the business as part of its Pepperidge Farm bakery operations. Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to be completed later this spring. The company has 115 employees and an 113,000 square-foot state-of-the-art bakery. Campbell plans to operate Ecce Panis as a distinct brand within its Pepperidge Farm portfolio.
MATTEL, INC.: has signed a four-year licensing deal with the Indy Racing League, to market Hot Wheels products featuring IndyCar Series drivers and teams, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis 500. The products will be available at major retailers nationwide starting this month, trackside at all IndyCar Series races and online. The IndyCar Series season kicks off April 5 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
