POST-IT NOTES: will take on an associate sponsorship of the No. 16 National Guard Ford Taurus, driven by Greg Biffle, for the upcoming NASCAR Nextel Cup season. The brand’s yellow logo will take primary hood placement on a special Post-it Notes paint scheme for nine races.
DUOFOLD: has announced a first-time partnership with the Yellowstone Park Foundation, in which the company will outfit Yellow National Park employees with its Varitherm and Insulayer base layer products. The products are designed for warmth under difficult weather conditions. Duofold will outfit Yellowstone law enforcement, research staff and other outdoor employees with layered products to meet their specific needs.
BRUT: aftershave and weight-loss product brand Zantrex-3 have signed on to sponsor National Hot Rod Association teams.
UNITED PARCEL SERVICE: is extending its relationship with International Speedway Corp. In addition to its presence at Daytona International Speedway, where it is the official delivery company, it becomes an exclusive track sponsor of California Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway and Richmond International Raceway. The deals run through 2008.
CHANNEL M: Los Angeles, has added a promotional marketing services division to handle retail promos and sampling. The unit complements Channel M’s core work in non-traditional media and events in retail locations, including EB Games Stores, Chuck E. Cheese’s, Blockbuster and Loews Theatres. Senior VP Steve Shapiro will run the New York-based division.
CANADA’S SUPREME COURT: upheld a Saskatchewan provincial law banning the display of tobacco products in stores that admit people under the age of 18. The ruling could lead to other provinces implementing a similar ban, as Manitoba and Ontario are considering similar legislation. Tobacco can be sold in Saskatchewan, but must be kept behind curtains or closed doors.
