CROWN HOLDINGS: has promoted Raymond L. McGowan, Jr., 55, to president of its North American Packaging business. The post takes effect July 1. In his new role, he will also oversee North American Beverage Packaging and North American Aerosol Packaging, responsible for marketing, sales, production and planning , which accounted for 34% of the company’s $7 billion in 2006 net sales. Currently, he is president of Crown’s North American Food Packaging business.

ARMOUR-ECKRICH MEATS: will tour 11 cities this summer to sample meats made for grilling. Eckrich’s Trust the Taste Summer Grilling Tour showcases Eckrich hot dogs and sausages, but also will give out samples of its new deli-fried turkey, chicken, bologna and ham, as well as sandwich meat and bacon. The tour began June 2 at Chicago’s Wrigley Field, and will run through August with stops at baseball and NASCAR venues as well as fairgrounds and community festivals in Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, Oklahoma City, St. Louis, Toledo, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. Mars Advertising handles the tour for Armour-Eckrich.
