GENERAL MILLS: has awarded the $1 million grand prize in its annual Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest to Carolyn Gurtz, 59 of Gaithersburg, MD. Gurtz, who also received $10,000 worth of GE Profile kitchen supplies, won for her recipe, Double-Delight Peanut Butter Cookies, a combination of Pillsbury Create n’ Bake Refrigerated Peanut Butter Cookies with Jif Creamy Peanut Butter and Fisher Dry Roasted Peanuts. She was one of 99 other competitors vying for the top prize. Gwen Beauchamp of Lancaster, TX, received the America’s Favorite Recipe Award for her Toffee-Banana Brownies, and $5,000.
