AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB: and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising have teamed up to produce a co-branded pet product line around the upcoming movie, “Marley & Me.” Under the deal, Jakks Pets, a dog toy and treats company, will create an AKC/ “Marley & Me” puppy line, adult dog food line and gift sets. The licensed products will be sold at Wal-Mart stores in November. 4sight licensing solutions, a subsidiary of 4Kids Entertainment, Inc., and the worldwide licensing agent for AKC, arranged the agreement. “Marley & Me” is an adaptation of John Grogan’s memoir about his yellow Labrador retriever. The film debuts on Dec. 25.
