ICONIX BRAND GROUP INC.: has tapped actress Hayden Panettiere as the spokesperson of a back-to-school campaign for its junior brand, Candies. That effort includes TV spots, print ads and online marketing. The campaign is slated to rollout in September issues of fashion, entertainment and lifestyle magazines, and the commercial will debt on MTV this summer. Retailer Kohl’s Department Stores will feature the work in its back to school creative. In addition, Panettiere will star in her first music video, called “Wake Up Call,” which includes Candies apparel, footwear and accessories, available at Kohl’s.
NIKE, INC.: is celebrating its 20th anniversary of its “Just Do It” tagline with a global advertising campaign for Beijing. The TV spot features 31 Nike athletes from more than a dozen countries, including Michael Jordan, Michael Johnson, LeBron James and John McEnrose, and athlete stories, featuring Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong and South African sprinter Oscar Pistorius. The spot, developed by Wieden+Kennedy Portland, breaks in Nike’s Asia Pacific and Americans regions on July 19 and in the U.S. on Aug. 8.
