The popular candy bar, Nestlé Crunch, has headlined a special TV show tied to its long-term NBA partnership. The sponsored broadcast marks the first for an NBA sponsor.
The Nestlé Crunch Hot Shots Camp aired yesterday on NBA TV but footage can also be viewed at NBA.com. Comcast cable subscribers will be able to see highlights via video-on-demand later this month.
Viewers saw behind-the-scenes footage of basketball players from around the country in a one-on-one match-up with The Diesel, Shaquille O’Neal, the NBA world champion and 2004 NBA All-Star MVP. His teammate from Miami, Dwyane Wade, made a guest appearance to offers kids some tips on playing the game.
The 14 players involved in the show were 20005 Nestlé Crunch Hot Shot winners who participated in a Nestlé-branded one-day basketball camp held at the University of Miami Aug. 13. Each player had sent in a 60-second video showing off his skills. This was the seventh year Nestlé held the camp.
The TV special marks a new venture in Nestlé’s partnership with the NBA, which began in 1992.
NBA TV launched in 1999.
