Rich media firm MindArrow Systems Inc., has been issued a patent covering the way it sends rich media e-mail.
The patent covers the mechanisms and methodology for pulling in content from remote servers when an e-mail is opened by the recipient, according to Jay Stevens, director of strategic alliances at the Aliso Viejo, CA, company.
MindArrow delivers, manages and tracks dynamic rich and interactive e-mail, including HTML, Flash, streaming video and commerce components.
“This is a critical delivery process for any rich media e-mail messaging, either 1-to-1 or one-to-many,” Stevens said.
The product came from RadicalMail, a company founded by Stevens and acquired by MindArrow in September 2001.
In other news, the company had received an extension, until Feb. 18, from Nasdaq to achieve the $1 minimum bid requirement for trading in the company’s common stock. Today, the stock was trading at 3 cents.
Also, MindArrow has filed documents with the Securities and Exchange Commission to acquire Category 5 Technologies Inc., a publicly held company that provides marketing tools and commerce-enabling technologies for small- to medium-sized businesses.
