An eye on the mailbox these days could get one lucky winner his or her own private Island and a bundle of spending money.
Capital One yesterday began mailing about 250 million gamecards to consumers dangling island-related prizes tied to its No Hassle Island Giveaway promotion. The envelopes have been designed to show the island logo in the hopes that the mail will not go directly into the circular file. Waves of mailings continue to drop through Nov. 30. The grand-prize winner of the scratch-off game gets the private island plus spending money for a total value of $1 million.
Other prizes include 90 weeklong vacation first prizes and 200 weekend getaway second prizes, valued at $14,000 and $4,200 respectively. The promotion ends Dec. 15.
