Miller’s CMO Named President and CEO

Miller Brewing Co. has promoted CMO Tom Long to the offices of president and CEO effective Aug. 1.

Long had been the brewer’s CMO since July 2005. He succeeds Norman Adami, who was promoted to president and CEO of SABMiller Americas. London-based SABMiller is Miller’s parent company.

Randy Fansome replaces Long as executive VP and CMO. Most recently, he worked as president of Georgia-based consulting firm ConvergencePoint Group.

The changes come as part of a long-planned strategy to build a strong management team at Miller.

“I am confident that this leadership team will step up our game,” Adami said in a statement.

Other management changes include:

  • Tom Cardella has been named executive VP-sales and distribution. He leads the company’s international brand and market development operations.
  • Doug Brodman becomes senior VP-Miller International. He leads the sales and distribution network.
  • Charlie Frenette will work as interim leader of business strategy and planning while Miller searches for a permanent executive for the post.
