MaxPlanet Corp. of New York plans to begin marketing and distributing books via wireless mobile devices, following its acquisition of Wireless Ink LLC, a Web site publishing firm. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The company expects to generate revenue through monthly subscriptions, revenue sharing arrangements and advertising by targeting the mobile telephone market, which is projected to grow larger than 1.5 billion phones.
