Leveraging its sponsorship of 25 teams in the National Football League, MasterCard International yesterday launched a sweepstakes that gives 30 lucky fans the tailgate party of a lifetime.
Winners of the Priceless Game Day Experience will host nine of their closest friends and family members— well as an NFL legend. The experience will include a pre-game tailgate with all essentials provided; pre-game sideline passes; team-branded merchandise; and 10 tickets to the game of the day.
Purchase, NY-based MasterCard is promoting the sweeps, which ends Oct. 31, in gas stations, casual dining restaurants and grocery stores. To enter, consumers just need to use their MasterCard at those types of locations.
“Whether it’s fueling up for the game or stopping for some potato chips, fans using their MasterCard cards now have a chance to win a truly ‘Priceless’ experience,” said Amy Fuller, group head, Americas brand development for MasterCard International, in a statement.
According to a survey conducted on Tailgating.com, the preeminent Web site dedicated to the “sport” of tailgating, the typical tailgater is between the ages of 25-34, spends more than $500 a year on tailgating supplies and attends or hosts six to 10 tailgating events each season.
Radio supports local events staged at each football stadium. Participating merchants are also displaying P-O-P materials.
