Marriott gives New Yorkers a view of its new room design with four days of entertainment taking place on a Times Square billboard.
The glass room, built atop the billboard, showcases new bedding and décor that’s rolling into Marriott Hotel and Resorts properties nationally. The four-day campaign, called mSpot, uses the room as a stage for concerts, celebrity appearances, live radio broadcasts and a wedding.
Marriott CEO J. Willard Marriott, Jr. opens the exhibit today; TV personality Bobby Rivers will live in the room through Saturday and host a concert each day (Ciara, Marc Broussard, Antigone Rising, Collective Soul) and radio shows Leeza Live with Leeza Gibbons and VH1 with Rachel Perry.
There’s a wedding scheduled for Friday (and a bridal shower Thursday night) between Dan DeGrace and Karen Krsticevic, a staffer at Momentum Worldwide, which handles the campaign. A photo album will be displayed on the Kodak Times Square Jumbotron.
Street teams will hand out collateral, and a ground-level display in the Marriott Marquis on Broadway lets consumers see the new beds and décor up close. A dedicated Web site, Marriottmspot.com, supports the redesign rollout.
