Marriott International Inc. is giving members of its loyalty program the chance to buy additional points online to earn rewards.

Members of Marriott Rewards, the hotel chain’s loyalty program, can pay $10 for 1,000 points through a new partnership with Toronto-based Points International.

“We are always looking for new ways to bring value and convenience to our members and this partnership with Points.com makes it easier for them to get those last few points needed for their free vacation or whatever award they desire,” said Ed French, senior vice president of customer relationship marketing for Marriott Rewards in a statement.

Members can buy points online at Points.Marriott.com. Customers can buy up to 99,000 points per transaction, the company said.

Some 24 million members belong to Marriott Rewards , according to Bloomberg News. The program, which is free, lets customers earn points or airline miles for every dollar spent at nine Marriott.com brands.

Members can redeem loyalty points on merchandise, hotel stays, theme park tickets and rental cars, among other items. Users with at least 7,500 points qualify for a one-night stay at one of the company’s hotels.
