Marcio Salem Appointed Direct Lions Jury President at Cannes Ad Festival

Marcio Salem has been appointed the Direct Lions Jury President for the 55th edition of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. Salem is president and creative director of ad firm Salem in São Paulo, Brazil.

Salem has won numerous national and international awards, including Echos, Caples, Direct Lions in Cannes. His 15-year-old agency currently employs 140 people, and includes Mercedes-Benz, IBM, Carrefour, MasterCard and ABN AMRO Bank among its clients.

Salem was on the first Cannes Direct Lions jury in 2002. In 2006, he was the youngest professional to be inducted to the Direct Marketing Hall of Fame in Brazil. In 2007, Salem was honored with the Irving Wunderman Award, an accolade for creative talent in direct marketing which is presented to an individual who has produced exceptional direct response work for a minimum of 10 years.

The Cannes Direct Lions honor the best DM work, as judged by strategy, creativity, execution and results. The 55th International Advertising Festival will be held June 15-21 in Cannes, France.
