Lowe’s Dangles Tickets to 2007 NCAA

Lowe’s Cos., Inc. is tapping the fanfare generated from the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) men’s basketball games, which wrapped up last night, to drive home a promotion that sends one winner to watch next year’s game.

The Lowe’s Final Four Promotion rewards one shopper with a grand-prize trip for four to the NCAA’s two semi-final games and championship game next year in Atlanta. The winner will also receive a $1,000 Lowe’s gift certificate and $2,200 in meal vouchers and spending money. First-place prizes include an estimated 2.2 million Lowe’s gift cards worth up to $10.

Consumers who make purchases at Lowe’s stores before April 8 are randomly selected to receive an instant-win receipt with the words “You’re a winner” printed on it. Those consumers will then have until April 23 to log on to Loweswinners.com and enter the code on the receipt to learn what they’ve won.

The Promotion Network, Inc., New York, NY, and Gage Marketing Group, LLC, Minneapolis, MN, handle.

Lowe’s announced its three-year sponsorship of the NCAA last fall. It kicked off the relationship last December offering school-themed gift cards of more than 95 NCAA colleges and universities on its Web site.

Lowe’s is a Fortune 50 company that serves approximately 11 million customers a week at more than 1,150 home improvement stores in 49 states. The company’s 2004 sales totaled $36.5 billion.
