Loews Cineplex Entertainment adds promotional overlays to its gift certificate program as it replaces paper gift certs with Reel Dollars gift cards.
Collectable cards pegged to holiday movies feature Universal Pictures’ Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat and New Line Cinema’s The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Purchases of $25 or more through Jan. 30 include a $5 Munch Money coupon good Jan. 1 through March 31.
A promotional package, Reel Tins, goes on sale Nov. 24 with a $25 gift card, Pop Secret popcorn, Raisinets, Milk Duds and Twizzlers in a holiday-decorated film canister. It sells for $40 online and in some Loews theatres. P-O-P supports in theaters via posters, counter cards, floor decals, and a Reel Tins trailer created by Universal featuring The Cat in the Hat.
Reel Dollar gift cards come in $10 increments (up to $100). Stored Valued Systems, Louisville, KY, handles Reel Dollars for New York City-based Loews.
