Listworks Clients Move On Following Reported Shut Down

In the wake of the apparent closing of Listworks Corp. earlier this week, Macromark Inc., the Impulse Media division of RMI Direct Marketing Inc., and Specialized Fundraising Services Inc have taken over half of the company’s list portfolio.

Neither Listworks’ President Walter Monzi nor CFO John Collins could be reached for comment about the future status of the company or any creditors. Several phone calls to the firm’s headquarters in Hawthorne, NY went unanswered.

Listworks Corp. had not filed for bankruptcy as of Thursday. On Feb. 1, a representative of Listworks management reportedly told about 50 employees to go home because the company was closing.

Several former employees have accepted new positions at Brewster, NY-based Macromark, which has taken over 15 files previously managed by Listworks. Norman Newman has been named senior vice president of sales; Ken Ryan, vice president of sales; and Mary Ellen Meyer, list manager. Maria Bongzarone, Jayne Gottschall and Steve Koons all accepted positions as list brokers.

Several astrology lists and opportunity seeker files have been transferred to Macromark, along with other files such as the Better Health & Self Improvement Library, BNI Building News and Nuvobody lists. New data cards will be ready for release by the end of the business day Friday, said Eduard Kul, vice president of sales at Macromark.

Danbury, CT-based Impulse Media has assumed management of the U.S. and Canadian Psychic Predictions files formerly at Listworks, in addition to the Adrianna and Cloud Nine lists, which target similar audiences, said Pam Ranalli, marketing manager at Impulse.

Specialized Fundraising Services now represents 50 lists owned by nonprofit organizations that were formerly managed by Listworks, said Frank Quaranta, executive vice president and COO of Specialized Fundraising.

Quaranta was recently vice president of Listworks before he left voluntarily to found Specialized Fundraising. His business partner Lisa Greene, president and CEO of the new company, is a former Spartanburg, SC-based independent contractor for Listworks.
