IN THE NEWS

Worldata Index Reports Decline in E-mail List Prices
Consumer and business-to-business e-mail list prices have continued to decline over the last 12 months, according to the Worldata List Price Index released on Thursday.

The average price for a consumer e-mail list has declined to $160/M, reflecting the largest $7/M decrease in one year. Similarly, the average B-to-B e-mail list price now stands at $273/M, which reflects a $4/M decline.

The rising number of e-mail lists coming on the market and lower than average response rates are leading many list owners to negotiate prices below published data card rates, said Ray Tesi, senior vice president at Worldata.

Newsletter list prices have also dropped to $172/M, down an average of $6/M, compared to last year.

On the flipside, prices have risen for B-to-B magazine, attendee, membership lists and master files. The average increase was $5/M. The average donor list price increased by $3/M and now stands at $82/M.
