Letters to the Editor

Re: Albert Saxon, DM Artist and Copywriter, Dies at 60, Direct Newsline, October 9, 2007:

I was saddened to read Albert Saxon’s obit in today’s Direct Newsline. Never met him but felt like I knew him a bit, having read his many letters in response to Loose Cannon.

Clearly he was an engaging personality, and a man very engaged in his field. His letters reflected wit and intelligence – seems like he died way too young.

I am in shock about Albert Saxon. He wrote such well-informed and accurate comments about the old days in direct mail that I presumed he had died in his old age.

It’s interesting that he was a graphic artist and copywriter. His comments always had the ring of truth of a senior corporate direct marketing executive.
