[Re: Loose Cannon: A Note From My Mother, Direct Newsline, May 10, 2004:]
My mother is also in a nursing home in Connecticut, and, thank the good Lord, my three sisters are there. They visit every day, and rotate that responsibility. As I am in Miami, FL, and have been for 28 years, it is a tremendous relief. My husband and I have my father-in-law living with us, in our guest house, as he is 92.
What amazes me, and causes me fear, are all of those elderly who do not have a daughter like you, or a daughter-in-law or son like my father-in law has, to be that advocate. I cannot imagine how they survive. We need to establish a new business that is there to serve.
Thanks for the article.

During my mother’s final year, her lifestyle was much easier with my personal attention to her specific needs, wants, and desires.
Like your situation … “If you don’t inspect — don’t expect; and if you expect — show respect” (especially for those who are burdened with “Why the Hell” rather than “Would you please!”).
I enjoy your words!
God bless you!
