As the son and grandson and nephew of dope peddlers (i.e., pharmacists), I couldn’t agree with you more on the failure of drug advertising.

You did leave out one vital factor though: the often lengthy and detailed descriptions about everything the medicine will do to the ingestee. There’s one pill that’ll I’ll never remember, yet cannot forget one of it’s “potential” side effects: oily discharge.

Sometimes what you do know, can hurt you as an advertiser — and that kind of information is best left between doctor and patient.
