[Re: Loose Cannon: The Selling of the Election 2006, Direct Newsline, November 6, 2006 (directmag.com/loosecannon/loose-cannon-selling-election-2006-110606/)]:
(Editor’s note: These are the first entries to the Loose Cannon direct mail/e-mail/bumper sticker contest. Full details are available at the URL above.)
You forgot the old joke about Philadelphia when you listed your first and second prizes.
First prize: One appearance on Direct Newsline; 2nd prize: two appearances in Direct Newsline.
As for my bumper sticker entry:

As a contest entry, I wish to submit a direct mail concept for non-voters with the following outer envelope:
A full color, full bleed photograph of a farmhouse, barn and horses in a fenced-in area on a hillside. The farmhouse is neat looking (just under the mailing indicia), the barn is red (to the left of the farmhouse, a slightly forward), the hillside is lush green. Horses, in the foreground, are frolicking.
On the left side of the face of the envelope, in large type, the words “Stabilize Congress” are written in a bold italic style, softened by being printed in blue ink.
