In today’s Digital Thoughts we expose how a site like eBay can remove information asymmetry and shed light on an area that typically remains hidden. The for sale lead generation site focuses on one of the most established, not to mention competitive, forms of lead generation, mortgage banking. More than a few readers have built sites such as the one for sale not to mention run companies that could afford to buy them. This article is, unfortunately, not intended for them. It speaks to an audience that has less experience with online lead generation, e.g. a person that might have recently joined one of these firms.

The inspiration for this piece came from the following email, which said, “I am setting up an online media campaign on a cost-per-lead basis for an online University. I am working on a final budget and would like to come up with an average CPA for this campaign
