Lands’ End Launches Online B-to-B Features

Lands’ End, Dodgeville, WI, has added several business to business features to its online operations, mirroring its print catalog-based b-to-b relationships. The company’s online initiatives include:

* Supplying corporate buyers with customized Lands’ End apparel, embroidery, luggage and accessories. Lands’ End will integrate corporate customers with the Ariba Network and Commerce One MarketSite using webMethods. The relationships give corporate buyers access to Lands’ End Corporate Sales’ products as part of the supplier network at each online procurement company.

* Developing Online Custom Stores for use on clients’ desktops. The merchandise selection and editorial are tailored to meet each client’s brand identity requirements. Companies select the specific wardrobe items and presentation of the company logo on apparel and accessories to maintain brand integrity. They can also use Logo SnapShot, an interactive tool designed to show how corporate logos look on different items and in different colors. Starting in April, each new store will include Logo SnapShot.

* In Spring 2000, Lands’ End Live will debut on the Corporate Sales Web site and offer clients real-time human assistance from a Lands’ End Personal Shopper. Corporate Sales customer service representatives have been trained to assist with online orders placed through the site, and can share browsers with the client so together they can view the same pages at the same time. Customers and the Personal Shopper communicate in real time via the phone, simplifying the order process.
