Kodak Runs Photo Contest Prior to PGA Challenge

Kodak unveiled a photo contest as a new activation around its multi-year PGA Tour sponsorship in the run-up to its Kodak Challenge competition next year.

The “Kodak Challenge Golf Picture of the Week” offers amateur golf photographers a chance to win a digital camera by submitting golf photos to kodakchallenge.com. The four-week competition runs through Dec. 16 with each photo submitted entering the photographer in a random weekly drawing to win a Kodak Easyshare W1020 Wireless Digital Frame.

Meanwhile, Kodak revealed the 24 holes on different courses during next year’s PGA Tour that will comprise the Kodak Challenge. That activation, which will effectively pit competitors on the PGA Tour against each other for their scores on those respective holes, was unveiled last summer.

A tie results in a sudden death playoff after the conclusion of the final tournament in the series, the Children’s Miracle Network Classic presented by Wal-Mart. The winning golfer takes home $1 million along with the Kodak Challenge title.

“These 24 Kodak Challenge holes are among the most beautiful and memorable in all of golf, and we look forward to the many Kodak Moments to some when the Kodak Challenge tees off in January,” said Jeffrey Hayzlett, chief business development officer and vice president, Eastman Kodak Co., in a release.

Players must play at least 18 of the 24 Kodak Challenge holes through the season to compete for the title and the money prize.

Kodak struck a multi-million dollar, six-year deal with the PGA Tour late last year.

Kodak opted to not renew its pact with Penske Racing earlier this year, ending its 22-year relationship with NASCAR in favor of putting its marketing resources behind the new PGA Tour sponsorship.
