Infographic: ‘The State of Real Estate SERPs’

Posted on

RealGeeks LLC, a provider of IDX real estate websites, has created an infographic about Google search engines results pages (SERPs) for real estate websites owned by independent real estate agents.

“The current state of real estate SERPs is a little disturbing,” RealGeeks notes. “Large national brands are dominating the SERPs, keeping the smaller sites — like yours — pushed further down, where potential customers are unlikely to look. This is easily demonstrated by performing a simple search of your city followed by the phrase ‘real estate,’ as in ‘Chicago real estate.'”

After conducting this search for the top 50 metro areas in the U.S. (by population) and looking at the first three pages of results on Google, RealGeeks found, among other things, that 30 percent of first-page listings were local sites. This presents a problem for independent agents.
