Silverpop, a digital marketing company, has generated an infographic offering marketers an overview of the social media landscape, which has drastically changed in the past 10 years. Here are some of the highlights:
- Here are the top 10 global social networks, as of Nov. 15: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Weibo, RenRen, LinkedIn, Badoo, Instagram, Yelp and Tumblr
- Twitter saw its audience explode by eight times between the crucial third and fourth years, while Facebook’s audience multiplied six times during this period of its existence and Tumblr’s audience grew by fourfold
- “The Rising Stars” of social media include Foursquare, Instagram and Tumblr
- “The Child Prodigies” of social media are Path, Pinterest and Soundcloud
