Lab42, a market research company, surveyed 1,000 social media users to gauge their thoughts on their thoughts on liking a brand on Facebook. Among the key findings are:
- 87 percent of users like brands on Facebook
- 82 percent of those who like brands on Facebook say it’s a good place to interact with brands, with 35 percent of this group saying they feel brands listen to them more on the social network
- 50 percent of brand “likers” say the brand’s Facebook page is more useful than its website
- Promotions/discounts, free giveaways and customer loyalty are the three biggest motivators for liking a brand on Facebook
- The top three ways brands can get non-likers to like them on Facebook are: run more giveaways, post less often and let them hide that they like the brand
