HP Takes Show on the Road

Hewlett-Packard is on the road touting its new digital entertainment initiative featuring the Apple iPod +HP music player.

Three tricked-out Cadillac Escalades will participate in more than 500 You Rock HP Tour events throughout North America until Dec. 31. Primary events include retail locations and college and high school campuses. The tour leverages the company’s new ad campaign.

Each Escalade is equipped to be its own digital entertainment center—complete with three LCD screens showcasing music videos and HP commercial spots. Interactive kiosks allow consumers to sample HP’s iPod and download songs off the iTunes Web site. At a digital photography station consumers can click and print commemorative photos and from a platform on the rooftop of the vehicle local DJ’s use iPods to spin the latest tunes.

In conjunction with the tour, HP is conducting a sweepstakes where entry forms are collected at each location and consumers become eligible for any of the 15 HP products raffled off at the end of each month. Consumers may also opt in to receive follow up information and product offers from HP. Los Angeles-based Infinity Marketing Team handles.

HP debuted the new TV and print campaign during the MTV Video Music Awards last month, which it sponsors.
