HouseHold Direct Inc., Southbury, CT, has acquired America’s Hometown Brand Center Inc. (AHBC). AHBC, based in Ponca City, OK, which provides appliances, electronics and lawn and garden equipment to over 300 independent retail operations across the United States. Terms were not disclosed.
AHBC is an $18 million business. Its management team will become the centralized purchasing department of HouseHold Direct. AHBC’s senior management team has been together for 30 years, most of that time in various positions within Sears’ retail and catalog divisions.
HouseHold Direct said that having a centralized purchasing department and fulfillment operation would provide its members with the most favorable pricing and delivery options.
