Blues music is the latest offering under a new sweepstakes at McDonald’s Corp., which gives consumers a chance to win tickets to the House of Blues concerts.
McDonald’s is teaming up for its first-ever partnership with live music brand House of Blues to kick off the Are you MAC Enough? Sweepstakes, which begins today and runs through May 2.
To participate in the sweepstakes, consumers must enter one of eight MAC codes featured on Big Mac sandwich packaging online at PlayatMcD.com or send a text message from a wireless phone.
The grand-prize winner will receive tickets and hotel accommodations to attend 10 concerts with a friend at any House of Blues location is the U.S. from July 2005 to July 2006. As part of the prize, the winner can choose which concerts to attend. With each concert, the winner will receive air and ground transportation, $250 spending money and hotel accommodations. The prize is valued at $30,000.
Ten other winners will receive two tickets per month for 12 months to a House of Blues or affiliate partner concert. The sweepstakes has a limit of eight entries per person.
“House of Blues fits perfectly with Big Mac and relates to our customers,” said Douglas Freeland, director of Brand/Entertainment Strategy McDonald’s U.S. Marketing, in a statement. “Much like rap and rock music, the Big Mac Are You MAC Enough? sweepstakes is energetic, far reaching and about individuality.”
The sweepstakes is open to consumers 16 and older. A random drawing will take place on June 8. Internet materials, radio and print ads support. The Oak Brook, IL-based McDonald Corp. sponsors.
