Hong Kong has launched a postcard campaign to spread the word overseas that the territory is safe from SARS because its health authorities haven’t reported any new occurrences of the sometimes-fatal disease, according to wire service reports.
The government has printed 300,000 free postcards with messages of ”Hello from Hong Kong” and ”Hong Kong Looking Ahead” for the city’s residents to write to their relatives, friends and business associates abroad that the territory is back to normal after containing the outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome.
The postcards, which were set at deadline to be distributed from Saturday, were going to be delivered free of charge.
This effort is one part of the government program to relaunch Hong Kong’s economy, which has suffered from the crisis.
