Groupon Makes a Video for a Deal for Frozen Yogurt, Could Become a Search Engine

Posted on

Groupon logoA lot of negative things can be said about Groupon, but the company probably deserves some credit for trying. The daily-deals giant created a two-minute video for a deal at Yogen Fruz, a frozen-yogurt chain. It’s unclear whether Groupon will continue to make videos for deals. The video is a bit strange, but that’s to be expected given its offbeat copy for its deals. Groupon continues to diversify how it delivers deals. Last week, Groupon announced its Local Marketplace, where users in Chicago and New York can browse and search for deals that don’t expire right away. It can be seen as a step taken by Groupon to become a local-deals search engine. If it pursues this further, the company will have to bulk up its deals inventory.
